You can spend half as much and get good computerized control fuzzy logic rice cooker in this size. Zo is a great brand but Panasonic, LG, Sanyo all make great rice cookers too.
Stylus it look nice, It cook slow using quick cook, the pan is thin -not thick but better than the typical polymer in the past, it actually regular teflon coating.Take too long to reheat the rice.My old zojirushi take about 20 minutes to cook.
i rate it a 1 the lid is hard to pop up, but it works. the other 2 has not been open yet thank you
Sometimes I have to try a couple of times to open the lid. This is my third Zojirushi Rice cooker and my least favorite.I didn't like this model because cleaning the inside lid and moisture cup collector is needed after each use. The top does not close if the inside lid is not in place. Seems to get stuck. There's also no place to put the rice spoon.
You can have freshly cooked rice waiting when you get home ready to go. It never turned out well and I hated the cleanup. The 'keep warm' feature works well too, and you can keep the rice for hours without it drying out.I have also become addicted to McCann's Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal since buying the Zutto. I load the cooker at night and set the timer feature, and wake up to the smell of oatmeal. You can set the time you want to eat, and the Zutto will adjust it's start time so it completes cooking at that time. The Zutto is made better and works better than any other non-comercial cooker I have seen or had rice from though. It cooks a pretty mean oatmeal too.I thought I must be crazy for buying a $200 rice cooker when you can buy other models for $15.
The rice does indeed turn out better than from other cookers, and guests often comment that it is better tasting than from their own cookers. Rice turns out perfectly whether you wash it or not (I prefer to wash white rice as I like the flavor better with the starch removed). I love rice, but never rice I made at home. With the Zutto it's a snap. I use two and a half cups of water to one cup of oats in the porridge mode. Oh yea, the timer feature. I started out storing it in my cabinet, but have made space for it on the counter since I use it every day (modt days twice). But if it disapeared tomorrow, I would immediately buy another one.
The Zutto makes perfect rice every time (I make long grain, brown and short grain Sushi rice in mine and they all turn out great). It automaticly goes into the keep warm mode when it's done cooking, so even if your an hour or three late getting home you will arrive to perfect rice. I have eaten it for breakfast every day that I have been at home since the first time I tried it. McCanns is another delacacy thats time consuming to make on the stove and clean up. I DO AGREE, it should cost 75 or a hundred bucks less. It looks good enough that it doesn't look out of place too which is good.
